Holey geezus bat man. I HATE walking into spider webs. I will probably have nightmares tonight from trying to empathize with your experience. It must have felt pretty incredible indeed going from the one extreme of hot rageful humidity to the comfort of AC, cold showers, and fresh pizza. I certainly would have wept after an experience like that.

Thanks all. I wake up in my soft bed this morning, after a night of solid sleep and still so sore. But, the A/C and bed with no bats flying over nearly make up for it.

Casey, I was actually thinking about if it was worse or better going through it by myself. I think better, because I didn't have the added worry of trying to comfort anyone who was experiencing it with me. Although it would have been nice to have someone else there to fend off the demons in the night...

Wow, this trip definitely made for an interesting story but jesus, it sounds like a nightmare, especially going through all of that by yourself. Glad you made it home OK. Great writing!

That sounds like such a nightmare. You definitely got your story, and it sounds like you learned all the right lessons. I particularly liked and agree with the last sentence.

Thanks Alyssa, I am happy to have gotten to know you as well. Nicaragua would not have been the same without you. I look forward to other trips where you can join!

Sorry I did not respond sooner. It has worked out decently so far. It's a bit tight in there, but I am 6' 3". Building it to go over the folded back seats took a lot of measuring, but I got it in there. Let me know how your project goes!
